RSR has been conducting merchandising reports on a near-annual basis since 2007, yet this is perhaps the timeliest benchmark we’ve conducted. Its goal – to find how merchants balance art and experience with data and analytics to successfully deliver products that consumers want to buy – coincides directly with the widespread investigation of AI (artificial intelligence) by retailers AND the widespread incorporation of AI by the technology providers who serve them. The results are like nothing we’ve seen to date.
