Software-as-a-Service and the Need for Speed
Retailers are feeling the “need for speed ” when it comes to delivering new IT-enabled capabilities. They want to deliver new business functionality faster while paying less for that functionality. This desire is driven from both internal and external pressures; customers are demanding better service from retailers particularly for multi-channel customer order management, while the internal IT department is challenged to keep up with demands both from within and outside the company.Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is a business software delivery model that promises access to commercial applications more quickly and less expensively than traditional buy/integrate/implement software acquisition strategies.This study analyzes retailers’ interest and sensitivity to this delivery model.[button size=”small” color=”blue” style=”none” new_window=”false” link=”download?doc=rsr_software_as_a_service_0607.pdf”]Download Report[/button]
