Are Retail Websites Meeting Shopper Expectations?
Just as in prior years, RSR evaluated 80 retailers in the Internet Retailer top 200 list, and ranked their website performance across multiple criteria. We tested the speed at which each retailer’s desktop and mobile sites loaded. We evaluated the ease with which a shopper could shop their channels, and what 3rd party technologies (product reviews, recommendations, personalization, chat features, embed features to share the product on social media, etc.) were provided to improve the shopper’s journey and increase online sales
At the same time, we also went right to the source and surveyed shoppers to give them a voice in our research. Rather than rely on subjective judgment, we asked over 1,000 US consumers to tell us their thoughts on website performance, and right from the get go, their message was clear: website performance matters.
